Best location in Leeuwarden

Great hotel located within walking distance of all major attractions and station in Leeuwarden. Helpful and super friendly staff. Great room. Soft bed. Free goodies in fridge including beer. Three restaurants on the doorstep that are amazing!

Fab location - friendly helpful staff

Right across from the train station and easy walk to old town across canal. Room is big and clean- a bit dark- bed is comfy and good pillows. Excellent WiFi. Staff is friendly and very helpful. There is a/c but not super cold- staff kindly added a fan for me. Windows open - love that. Grocery store up the street. Kettle/ coffeemaker and fridge in room.

Fine home base for exploring

Hotel is fine. Location works well for exploring Leeuwarden ---- everything easily reachable on foot. And if you come by train, it's super convenient. That said, the property is just ok. As others have mentioned, it just feels tired and in need of an upgrade. The lobby is dark and not very inviting --- the room was clean enough but nothing special. Again --- not bad --- but keep your expectations to a moderate level. The two downsides for us were 1) Although they accept dogs, it doesn't feel dog friendly. You are immediately met with a list of of rules for the dog. While none of the rules were restrictive, it sets an odd tone and we didn't feel welcome. 2) Parking. The parking garage is a few blocks away and has a sketchy feel to it. Never felt unsafe necessarily, but you need your ticket to get into the garage in the evening --- and there must be a reason that it gets locked down at night. Safer I guess, but again -- not great for vibe/feel. If I came again, I'd like look for a boutique hotel in the center of town -- there were a few that we saw walking around.
