Stay at Oranje Hotel Leeuwarden

Excellent hotel in a good location opposite the train station and near bus station and town centre. Warmly welcomed on arrival an provided with lots of information relevant to our visit.

Almost great

We loved the town of Leeuwarden and almost loved this hotel but not quite. The location is great even if, like us, the proximity to the train station is not a factor. The whole centre of Leeuwarden is easily walkable and this hotel is close to everything. The beds and pillows were super comfortable! Our room had a nice little balcony with table and chairs. And the staff were all really outstanding, each and every employee was always cheerful, friendly and super helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice but pretty basic. TV channels only minimal on offer. But the whole hotel is looking a bit tired and could benefit from an upgrade. Especially the bathroom which is really poorly designed. The shower is over a tub which is so high it’s hard to get in and out of and so narrow you can barely turn around. And the wall hung toilet is set so high off the ground only my toes could reach when sitting! There were some issues with the facilities that the staff was clearly frustrated in trying to correct. But they offered us a discount for the inconveniences which was greatly appreciated. We had the sense that the hotel may be in the midst of an upgrade so worth enquiring before you book. But all in all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Pleasant stay!

We selected the hotel since it is opposite the train station. The price was quit good, but appeared to be without breakfast. We still took our breakfast at the hotel and while relatively expensive was a really nice experiance. The completeness, way of presenting it and the personel have been great The room was not big, but big enough for the two of us. It had everything you would expect. Coffee and thea machine, TV, nice chairs and a desk. Bed was nice.We didn't hear a train during the night.

Location!!!

The location is super! Opposite the train station and only minutes from the train station. Friendly staff. The breakfast room is relaxed and has art decor elements. We liked the food and drinkt, like organic 100% fruit Juice from the Schulp family.
